‘Quality Not Mediocrity’ is at the heart of what Independent Harrogate believe will improve the conditions for independents to thrive.
Many of us feel that the future success of Harrogate’s economy is under considerable threat, especially because of the recent Government’s increase in taxation and the severe pressure it exerts on the high street.
It is essential that there is ease of access to the town centre; free from congestion. This should include a healthy mix of car parking for visitors, so they can park at competitive rates or in free zones – especially for those that work in the town. This will enable the town centre to compete with out-of-town shopping centres and retail parks.
We have put together a vision for Harrogate which is a document for ongoing discussion and we would very much welcome hearing your views as stakeholders in the town’s future.
